A pedodontist, often referred to as a paediatric dentist, has trained and actually specialised in children’s dental care. It is a postgraduate degree, following a general dental degree.

It’s super handy to have the same dentist who treated them as a child look after them in their teenage years if that’s what they need. Is Children’s Dental Free for Kids on the Gold Coast?
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) runs under Medicare and means that children who are eligible can receive as much as $1,000 across two years to cover a wide variety of children’s dental needs. As a family dentist, we absolutely offer this as a bulk billed service to our clients as we know how much it can really help.
